CLINICAL RESEARCH ANALYST
A Clinical Research Analyst usually works on studies designed to measure the effectiveness and safety of a drug, medical device or a procedure conducted on the human body. Research analyst will be interacting directly with patients in order to screen them and also to collect data needed for the particular study. However, they also work with physician or scientist who oversees the ongoing clinical study. Clinical research analyst plays an essential role in all forms of medical research including early and late phase clinical trials.
Roles in Clinical Research field:
Coordinating an ongoing clinical research study by identifying patients, tracking inventory, interacting with patient, collecting data and overseeing protocol.
Acts as liaison between supervising principal investigator and other medical staff such as nurse.
Acts as primary financial person whenever necessary
Educational Requirements:
Individual must have anundergraduate degree in medical sciences, nursing orlife science or clinical field such as physician’s assistant or registered nurse.
For entry level jobs:
An associate’s degree with at least 5 years of experience in a clinical research setting
For Higher level Jobs:
Bachelors or master’s degree with additional work experience
Certifications:
Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP)
